A new WordPress Website for the Grange Community Association.

The Grange Community Association’s former well-visited website was built on Drupal in about 2009. By 2018, association members were finding it fiddly and time-consuming to add, edit, or delete content, and wanted to refresh its look and feel. I reconstructed the website using WordPress, and guided the GCA members through a content strategy process to audit, add/update/delete or consolidate the content from the old website before bringing it to the new website. We built a new website menu and navigation structure based on the content audit,  and we added in some new features, like a Google map.

Solution

The GCA members wanted an easy-to-update, fast, and flexible website, so I suggested we start fresh with WordPress. Using the old website as a model, I built the new one from the ground up, helping the team revisit their content and decide what to keep and what to change in the new website. I also suggested we add website features that they had not considered, and are pleased to have.

“Danielle patiently led us through the complex task of reorganizing our old website content for the new website. Then she built it, and brought us some excellent ideas for extras that we could add, like buying a membership online. She also made an interactive Google map that shows all the addresses where we, as the residents association, have had planning interventions.”
